Ten Opposition Members of Parliament have each contributed $1,000 per month in 2025 toward the establishment of the proposed People First Party, according to information released by the Fijian Elections Office.
The document shows monthly payments beginning in April 2025, with contributions continuing through the year to support the formation and organisation of the new political party.
The ten MPs are Inia Seruiratu, Semi Koroilavesau, Jone Usamate, Parveen Bala, Alvick Maharaj, Vijay Nath, Rinesh Sharma, Joseph Nand, Virendra Lal and Hem Chand.
The table indicates that several MPs have consistently paid the $1,000 monthly commitment, with the combined contributions reaching over $73,000 by the end of the recorded period in November 2025.
Notable absence from the list are Premila Kumar and Faiyaz Koya, whose name does not appear among those contributing to the initiative.
The contributions suggest a coordinated effort among the ten former Fiji First MPs to financially support the development of the People First Party as it prepared to register the party.
People First party was registered on January 20th by the Fijian Elections Office.
