THE magic of the VOU or the Fijian Flying Circus  lit up the stage in New Zealand, leaving families in awe and strengthening bonds within the Fijian community in Kirikiriroa.

Hamilton resident Samuela Bogitini said it was a moment of pride and joy to host the performers during their visit.

“We were so happy to have the Fijian Flying Circus here in Hamilton,” he said.

“It was truly a blessing to host them, and our children were absolutely amazed watching their very first live circus performance at the Hamilton Gardens.”

The troupe performed at the popular Hamilton Gardens, drawing families eager to witness the high-energy acrobatics and cultural showcase that VOU is known for.

For Mr Bogitini, the experience went beyond the bright lights and applause.

He said meeting the performers in person and spending time with them during their stay made the visit even more special.

“I was also grateful to meet them in person and spend time with them nearly every day they stayed at the marae.

“It was a pleasure to support them however I could.”

In a heartwarming show of support, Mr Bogitini said four children eagerly helped promote the event by handing out flyers across the city.

“I gave four children the flyers and they ran through the main streets of Hamilton, down Victoria St and Hamilton East.

“They even took them to their school and shared them with their cousins.”

He said the excitement among the children showed how much the performance meant to local families.

“The smiles on their faces said it all. For many of them, it was their first time seeing a live circus show. It’s something they will never forget.”

The visit by VOU not only entertained but also strengthened cultural ties, reminding many in the diaspora of their roots and the power of Fijian talent on the world stage.
