The Embassy of the Republic of Fiji has issued a public notice updating Fijian citizens in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region on the resumption of scheduled flights.

In the notice, the Embassy confirmed that UAE authorities have facilitated approximately 60 flights through Dubai International Airport, transporting more than 17,000 passengers to date.

In the next phase, more than 80 additional scheduled flights are expected to operate, with an estimated 27,000 passengers to be transported.

The Embassy has advised Fijian nationals with existing bookings that airlines will contact confirmed passengers directly using the email address or phone number provided at the time of booking.

Only passengers who receive official notification from their airline are advised to proceed to the airport.

Travellers who have not been contacted are strongly urged not to travel to the airport.

The Embassy further stressed that all travel confirmations, changes and inquiries must be directed to the respective airlines.

Officials say the Mission continues to closely monitor developments and remains committed to providing timely and accurate information to Fijian citizens in the region.

Fijian nationals are also encouraged to stay connected through the Embassy’s Consular WhatsApp group for official updates and safety advisories.
