The Judicial Services Commission is expected to meet tomorrow to deliberate on matters concerning Acting FICAC Commissioner Lavi Rokoika.
While it was speculated that the commission had made recommendations on her fate to the President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu recently, there has been no public statement to confirm this.
Neither the JSC nor the President’s Office has disclosed what took place when commission chairman, Chief Justice Salesi Temo, met Ratu Naiqama last week.
The JSC held an emergency meeting on Friday, February 27 and consultations with the Attorney-General.
After a High Court ruling that the advice given by the Prime Minister and the subsequent decision of the President on June 2, 2025 to revoke Barbara Malimali’s appointment were unlawful and ultra vires, the commission said it would make its own independent recommendations to the President on the outcome of the judgment.
