A flood warning remains in force as of 12.30pm today for all low-lying and flood-prone areas adjacent to and downstream of the Nakauvadra River in Rakiraki Town.
The warning also covers areas near the Naseyani at Yaqara River, Tavua River, and the flood plains of the Ba, Nadi and Nawaka rivers.
Meanwhile, a flood alert remains in force for low-lying and flood-prone areas adjacent to and downstream of the Tuva River in Nadroga.
Authorities say an active trough of low pressure, accompanied by active rain-bands and strong northwesterly winds, continues to affect the country, increasing the risk of river flooding.
Water levels are currently fluctuating above alert and warning levels in Rakiraki, Tavua and Ba.
Tide levels are expected to peak later today, with high tide in Lautoka forecast at 1.91 metres at 6.08pm and in Suva at 1.7 metres at 6.39pm.
Officials warn that the high tide may aggravate flooding in low-lying areas.
