BUSINESSES at Yatulau Arcade finally opened their doors to the public yesterday, injecting fresh commercial energy into the heart of Suva, although petty crime continues to cast a shadow over retailers operating in the capital.

Among the new tenants is electronics retailer Garsen Pte Ltd, marking its first expansion outside the Western Division.

Suva manager Laisani Xu described the opening as a proud milestone for the company.

“This is our second location, and I am happy that we have expanded to Suva City,” Ms Xu said.

Garsen has operated in Fiji for about a decade with its flagship outlet based in Nadi. Customers can expect a broad range of technology products, including Apple iOS and Android devices.

Ms Xu said petty theft remained a pressing concern for businesses in Suva.

“The only setback for us is thieves,” she said, adding that a strict no-shoe-no-entry policy has been introduced to help deter shoplifting.

Despite the challenges, the team remains optimistic about building a strong customer base in the capital.
