Fiji Airways has inked a major sporting partnership, announcing a three-year agreement with AFL club Gold Coast SUNS ahead of the launch of its new direct Gold Coast–Nadi service on June 11, 2026.

The deal strengthens Fiji’s visibility in Australia, with the Fiji brand set to feature prominently at SUNS home games at People First Stadium, where crowds of up to 20,000 fans gather each match.

Managing Director and CEO Paul Scurrah said the collaboration ties sport and tourism together in a key market.

“Australia remains Fiji’s largest tourism market, and the Gold Coast is a natural extension of our network. This partnership not only supports the launch of our new direct service but also promotes Fiji as a premier holiday destination to thousands of Australian travellers each week,” said Mr Scurrah.

The partnership launches on March 2, just days before the SUNS open their season against Geelong Cats on March 6.

Fans can expect Fijian-themed halftime activations, cultural performances and giveaways throughout the 2026 season.

SUNS chief executive Mark Evans welcomed the collaboration.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Fiji Airways to our club,” Evans said.

He added the partnership would enhance matchday experiences while strengthening links between the Gold Coast and the Pacific region.

To celebrate, Fiji Airways is offering limited return fares from Nadi to the Gold Coast starting from $799 FJD.
