Artika Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Ravinal Ravinesh Anand and Sanjay Kumar appeared at the Lautoka Magistrates Court this afternoon in relation to an alleged kidnapping involving a 20-year-old woman in Saweni last month.
The court has transferred the matter to the High Court in Lautoka.
All four accused have been further remanded in custody and are scheduled to reappear on 9 March.
It is alleged that on the morning of 25 February 2026, the accused forcefully removed the victim from her home in Saweni following an argument.
Police allege the first accused, a 25-year-old Artika Sharma forced the victim into her vehicle, while her three accomplices allegedly assaulted a relative who attempted to intervene.
The victim is said to have jumped from the vehicle, sustaining injuries.
Sharma faces one count of kidnapping, one count of damaging property, and one count of an act with intent to cause grievous harm.
Her three alleged accomplice, all residents of Saweni, have each been charged with kidnapping, assault causing actual bodily harm, and criminal intimidation.
