A woman and three men have been charged in connection with an alleged kidnapping involving a 20-year-old woman in Lautoka.
The four are accused of allegedly forcefully removing the victim from her home in Saweni on the morning of 25 February 2026, following an argument.
Police allege the first accused, a 25-year-old woman from Saweni, forced the victim into her vehicle, while her three accomplices allegedly assaulted a relative of the victim who attempted to intervene.
The victim reportedly managed to jump out of the moving vehicle and sustained injuries.
The 25-year-old woman has been charged with one count of kidnapping, one count of damaging property, and one count of an act with intent to cause grievous harm.
Her three alleged accomplices, aged 44, 28 and 24, all from Saweni, have each been charged with one count of kidnapping, assault causing actual bodily harm, and criminal intimidation.
All four accused are expected to appear before the Lautoka Magistrates Court on Monday, 2 March 2026.
