THE Fiji Public Trustee Corporation Pte Ltd (FPTCL) currently administers about 5000 wills and over 1300 estates, underscoring its critical role in providing financial security and peace of mind to Fijian families.
And this point was driven home during a meeting this week by Minister for Public Enterprises, and Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts Charan Jeath Singh with FPTCL’s board of directors, reaffirming the Government’s support while emphasising the need for sustainability and growth.
During the meeting, Mr Singh acknowledged the Corporation’s initiative to modernise its operations through the introduction of the Trust Administration Core Accounting Systems (TACAS), describing it as a significant milestone in strengthening internal systems and service delivery.
“By replacing outdated systems and moving towards a centralised online platform, you are not only improving internal efficiency but also laying the groundwork for better service delivery to the people of Fiji,” he said.
He also welcomed FPTCL’s plans to introduce a client self-service portal in the future and cautioned that sustainability must remain the Corporation’s top priority.
“The Government is committed to providing support to strengthen the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation. We want to see you succeed, and we will provide the necessary policy environment and oversight. However, the primary responsibility for driving growth and ensuring long-term viability rests with you,” he said.
He encouraged the board and management to pursue growth opportunities within the estate planning and administration sector.
