The Tonga Police have extended their deepest condolences to the Fiji Police Force following the death of Constable Peniasi Racagi.
In a statement, Tonga Police said they stand in “solemn solidarity” with the leadership, officers, staff and families of the Fiji Police Force during what they described as a time of profound grief.
“The loss of a dedicated officer in the line of duty is a sacrifice that resonates deeply across our Blue Pacific region and among all who serve in uniform,” the statement said.
Tonga Police said they join the Fiji Police Force, together with Constable Racagi’s family, friends and colleagues, in mourning the loss and offered thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult period.
“May they find strength, comfort and unity in the enduring legacy of his service and sacrifice,” the statement said.
The message also highlighted the shared values and close ties among Pacific nations, reaffirming solidarity during times of tragedy.
“As Pacific nations bound by shared values, culture and mutual respect, we reaffirm our unwavering solidarity, standing together in times of both challenge and sorrow,” Tonga Police said.
They added that honouring Constable Racagi also honours the collective commitment of Pacific law enforcement officers who serve to protect their communities.
“For the Pacific, by the Pacific,” the statement concluded. “May Constable Peniasi Racagi rest in eternal peace.”
