A psychiatric report for Charles Laxton Sundar, who is accused of killing and dismembering his 86-year-old grandfather last year, is not ready, as he has not been evaluated.
His lawyer, Andala Dean, informed Justice Usaia Ratuvili at the High Court in Suva yesterday that according to information received, there is no written court order for Mr Sundar be produced at the St Giles Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
The 25-year-old faces a murder charge, with the prosecution alleging he slit the throat of Emori Rokovuki and dismembered the body using knives in Lutu, Wainibuka on July 12, 2025.
Justice Ratuvili has ordered Mr Sundar to be produced at St Giles Hospital for evaluation and thereafter to be remanded in custody.
As per the previous court proceedings, the court has been waiting for a report since November 2025 to determine if Mr Sundar is fit to enter a plea.
Mr Sundar was further remanded in custody, with the case adjourned to March 10 for review.
