Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro has urged student leaders to pursue excellence through discipline and consistent effort.
Speaking during the prefects’ investiture ceremony at Adi Cakobau School, he reminded students that success was never inherited but earned and renewed each day.
Describing ACS as one of Fiji’s most distinguished institutions since its establishment in 1948, Mr Radrodro noted that its proud legacy places a responsibility on students to uphold high standards.
He highlighted the school’s strong academic record, including a 99 per cent Year 12 pass rate in 2025, an improvement from 98 per cent the previous year.
However, he stressed that achievements should inspire continued commitment rather than complacency.
“Excellence is not a destination, it is a standard that needs to be maintained,” he said.
Mr Radrodro also commended ACS for pioneering the Flexible Pathway Program, which integrates secondary and tertiary–style learning to better prepare students for further studies or employment.
Beyond academics, he recognised the value of sports and extracurricular activities in shaping disciplined, resilient young leaders.
He also confirmed ongoing infrastructure upgrades at the school, including major refurbishments and a new library, to support student wellbeing.
Mr Radrodro reminded prefects that leadership was demonstrated daily through integrity, academic focus, and the example they set for others.
