Assemblies of God High School’s under-19 rugby league team delivered an impressive 32-6 win over Saint Vincent College, despite featuring mostly players aged 16 and 17.

The youthful squad showed great promise, blending skill and teamwork to secure the victory.

Technical manager Taitusi Saudole expressed satisfaction with the team’s commitment, highlighting the developmental nature of the squad.

“We are very happy with the boys’ effort and teamwork today (Saturday),” Saudole said.

Although many players are under 18, they showed great determination on the field.”

Looking ahead to the 2026 Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League competition, Saudole identified key areas for improvement.

“We need to focus on strengthening and conditioning since most players are still young,” he said.

“We also need to work on technical aspects such as breakdowns, scrums, and quicker responses during penalties.”

Assembly of God High School aims to build on last year’s performance, where they reached the elimination round.

“Our goal this year is to progress beyond elimination and make a deeper run in the competition,” Saudole added.

With multiple teams entered this season, Assembly of God High School is laying the groundwork for sustained success in the school’s rugby league competition.

Their recent win over Saint Vincent College is a promising start to the campaign.
