The Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services, and Transport has confirmed that the temporary bypass road at Semo Village along the Queens Highway will open to the travelling public from midnight tonight.
In a statement, the Ministry said final construction works on the bypass are being completed today, allowing traffic to resume through the area following recent disruptions caused by the failure at the Semo crossing.
The Ministry has extended its sincere appreciation to nearby communities, particularly the villages of Semo and Nalele, for their cooperation and support throughout the construction period.
Special acknowledgment was also given to Semo landowners for granting immediate access to enable urgent works to begin, as well as to Nalele villagers who assisted with traffic management during the project.
Motorists are being urged to exercise caution when using the bypass and to strictly follow all posted traffic signs and safety instructions to ensure smooth and safe travel through the area.
