AS the remaining legs of the HSBC SVNS unfolds, Fiji Airways Fiji men’s 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau knows how tough it will be as the dates fall due.

Following the Perth 7s earlier this month, where Fiji finished as silver medalists, it also leads the series standings with 70 points.

South Africa, cup winners there, are third with 62 points.

And with only five more stops to go in the series, Kolinisau says it’s not easy being at the top of the table in light of the effort exerted to get there.

“It’s not easy being number one as well. There’s a lot of things you’ve got to do,” he emphasised.

“Although we won in Singapore and (made the) final in Perth, we still made a lot of mistakes.

“And there are those mistakes we want to make sure that we iron out before we head to the last leg.”

In ensuring they continue their occupation at the top spot, he says examining their mistakes and taking each game at a time is of the essence.

“What we’re doing now is looking at our mistakes and taking one game at a time. We cannot overlook any team or assume it’s going to be easy,” he said.

“Our plan has always been to let us take one game at a time, every game is a part of the plan.”

The Vancouver 7s will be held from March 7-8.
