EXPECT a number of overseas boxers in the country next month when the ZEG Boxing Promotion unfolds in Suva.

ZEG Boxing, the first promotion of this year, was officially launched yesterday with boxers signing their contracts for the March 28 event.

10 bouts have been secured and signed so far with two more still under negotiations.

The main bout of the night is the Super Bantamweight title fight between Junior Binnu Singh and Varun Phartyal from India.

Phartyal, the returning Rohit Chauhan and Amandeep Singh are the Indian boxers that will be fighting in the promotion.

Among them is Sonny Morini from New Zealand who had defeated Mohammed Ali in November last year to win the NZPBC Welterweight title.

Morini will be squaring off against Fiji’s Kaliova Tahikia.

A fight to look out for is the main supporting bout between India’s Rohit Chauhan and Ratu Rakuro.

Last year, Rohit sent Ratu Filise to the canvas in a sixth round TKO.

Amandeep Singh will face prison officer Ratu Kimo in the heavyweight division.

An all-local fight to look forward to is the heavyweight bout between James ‘The Best’ Singh and Savenaca Tui.

The promotion will be held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
