Fiji Roads Authority says continuous rainfall has significantly affected ongoing works on the bypass road at the Semo slip site.

In an update, FRA confirmed it is continuing to maintain alternative access routes via Naidiri and Ciri Road, which are accessible to light vehicles only.

Additional maintenance works have been scheduled on the detour route tonight to ensure continued accessibility.

Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and expect possible delays.

To minimise waiting times, those travelling between Suva and Lautoka, Nadi, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki are encouraged to use Kings Road as an alternative route, with Naidiri and Ciri Road remaining another option.

Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution when passing through the area and to be mindful of pedestrians and commuters transferring between vehicles near the slip site.
