The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced detour arrangements to manage traffic flow along the Queens Highway.
This follows the collapse of the carriageway this afternoon.
FRA says cars and light vehicles are currently being guided through the detour route by teams stationed at the site.
However, buses and heavy vehicles are not allowed to access the route at this stage due to safety concerns.
To ensure public transport services continue, FRA has introduced a changeover system for bus passengers.
Commuters will be required to cross over to the opposite side of the affected area to board buses operating from the other end.
Motorists are being urged to plan their travel accordingly, expect possible delays and drive with caution.
FRA is also advising road users to follow the directions of traffic officials to maintain safety along the detour route.
