TEAM United FC were crowned champions of the Church Futsal Brothers competition held at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva over the weekend.

They emerged victorious after defeating Jordan United 2-0 in a thrilling final, showcasing a remarkable performance to the delight of their supporters.

Shamyen Stanelly Mudaliar, the Media and Production officer of CFB, expressed gratitude for the successful event.

He highlighted the exciting futsal matches, strong sportsmanship, and peaceful atmosphere that prevailed throughout the tournament.

The unity and fellowship among churches, both on and off the court, left a lasting impression on the Committee.

“By God’s grace the competition went very well. The weekend was filled with exciting futsal, strong sportsmanship, and a peaceful environment,” said Mudaliar.

“From the Committee’s perspective, what stood out most was the unity and fellowship between churches, and the honour shown on and off the court.”

He adds the turnout for the competition was highly encouraging, with 16 teams participating and spectators flocking to the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.

“The main aim is to spread the Word of God and bring churches together in unity.

“Futsal is the platform, but Jesus is the centre gathering believers to celebrate His name, build friendships, and strengthen faith and fellowship.

Among the standout teams in the competition, Team Calvary Young Men’s FC (Calvary Temple) caught the attention of the Committee.

Their exemplary discipline, positive attitude, and respect for others set them apart. They embodied the values of unity and fellowship that CFB aims to promote.

The Committee is already planning the next edition of the competition, tentatively scheduled for the first week of June, pending final arrangements for the venue.

The goal is to continue growing CFB as a platform for churches to unite, fellowship, and glorify Christ.

In a message to all the attendees over the weekend, the Committee expressed heartfelt gratitude for their participation.

They thanked players, churches, supporters, volunteers, referees, and sponsors for contributing to a meaningful event that transcends sports.
