A primary school student was killed in a road accident on Khalsa Road in Suva this morning.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident, saying the child was standing on the side of the road when he was struck by a vehicle.
“The victim was standing on the side of the road when he was hit by a car driven by a 25-year-old man,” Ms Naisoro said.
“He sustained injuries and was rushed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.”
Ms Naisoro said the driver would be brought in for questioning as investigations continue.
