THE Nasinu Volleyball Association is showing no signs of slowing down as they gear up for an action-packed month ahead.
With a Grassroots Volleyball tournament planned for Saturday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, the association is wasting no time in preparing for the upcoming Vanua Challenge later in the month.
In an effort to engage their affiliated clubs and the wider community, the association, in collaboration with the Fiji Sports Council, is launching a month-long Grassroots Development Program.
This initiative aims to provide high-level facilities and intense gameplay for their Tribal Risks NVA affiliated clubs, ensuring that no one is left out of the action.
Despite falling short in the final of the Vulaca Volleyball Championship over the weekend against Suva men’s, Nasinu Volleyball Alliance team is back on the grind in preparation for the upcoming challenges.
Club president Matai Daulako expressed his gratitude for the support from the affiliated clubs and emphasised the importance of trust and excellence within the association.
“This initiative allows our Tribal Risks NVA affiliated clubs to experience high-level facilities and high-intensity “sets” play and no one is left out,” said Daulako.
“Our clubs are the reason why we exist and to honor this in reciprocity that will encourage trust & excellence, we’ve put up a massive prize pool.
“Men’s Category: $5,000 (Winner),$1,000 (Runner-up), $500 (3rd Place), women’s Category: $2,000 (Winner), $1,000 (Runner-up), $500 (3rd Place).”
Looking ahead to the Vanua Challenge later in the month, the focus for the Tribal Risk NVA team is on tactical adjustments and improving match fitness.
“This program is designed to sharpen our game time and fitness before we hit the court for the Vanua Challenge.
“Tribal Risk NVA will be back at the same venue later this month for the Vanua Challenge. Between now and then, our focus is on tactical adjustments.
“Specifically, we are determined to reach a higher level of match fitness and tighten our defensive structures to ensure we can close out those high-pressure sets.”
Daulako acknowledged the support from families, supporters, and sponsors, the Nasinu Volleyball Association is grateful for the collective effort that has brought them to this point.
With support from naming rights sponsor Tribal Risk PTE Ltd, as well as partners Fiji Sports Council, Kundan Singh, and Grace Road, the association is poised for success in the upcoming challenges.
