The Fiji Rugby Union is embarking on a groundbreaking journey to elevate the nation’s rugby landscape through an innovative partnership with AIA Sports, a leading French company in sports technology and data analytics.

This collaboration introduces a cutting-edge digital platform that will unify and modernise rugby operations across Fiji, bringing them in line with the highest international standards.

By harnessing advanced technology and innovative management tools, this initiative will revolutionise the tracking and monitoring of player development, administration, and welfare, positioning Fiji rugby for sustained success globally.

The system is scheduled for rollout at the upcoming Skipper Cup, followed by its introduction to other domestic competitions such as the Vanua Championships and Marama Championships.

FRU CEO Koli Sewabu emphasised the transformative nature of this initiative.

“We are not just announcing a new supplier or technical partner; we are fundamentally reshaping how Fiji rugby operates, trains, and competes on the world stage.”

The FRMS will gather and unify player data from grassroots levels — including players as young as 12 — through domestic competitions such as the Skipper Cup and Subrails Marama Cup, extending up to the national teams: the Flying Fijians and Fijiana squads.

Replacing the fragmented paper-based records and spreadsheets that have long hampered Fijian rugby administration, the centralised platform will securely consolidate player registration, medical records, training load monitoring, and administrative communication into one streamlined, professional system.

“For the first time, we will have a single source of truth from village clubs all the way to our national teams,” Sewabu explained.

The game performance analysis will be led by a dedicated AIA Sports support team of rugby specialists in video analysis, data science, and statistics, providing scientific data to national and local coaches.
