Former Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption commissioner Barbara Malimali, Fiji Law Society President William Wylie Clarke, Fiji Law Society’s immediate past president Laurel Vaurasi, and former attorney-general Graham Leung have been granted leave to apply for judicial review.
The applicants are challenging the validity of the Commission of Inquiry report, seeking court orders to quash both its findings and recommendations, along with other related declarations.
The matter was mentioned before the court, which ruled that the applicants had met the threshold to proceed with the judicial review application.
The case has been adjourned to February 16 for further proceedings.
The judicial review is expected to examine the legality and process surrounding the COI report, with potential implications for its conclusions and any actions arising from it.
