The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that Waidamudamu Bridge, located along Nakorotari Road in Labasa, is closed to all traffic following a fire incident that occurred last night.
In a statement, the Authority said police are investigating the cause of the incident and the bridge will remain closed until further notice to ensure public safety.
Motorists and residents in the area are being advised to use alternative routes.
These are via Nakorotari Crossing towards Waikisi and Siberia Road, or via Vunimoli Feeder Road towards Waidamudamu Road.
The Fiji Roads Authority has urged road users to exercise caution, follow traffic advisories, and allow extra travel time while assessments and investigations continue.
