THE Nadroga Andra Sangam Netball Team gears up for the 2026 Andra Sangam Convention.
Based in Sigatoka, the team has already begun trials and training, with strong interest shown by players from around the Nadroga area.
Nadroga Andra Sangam president Judy Kumar said the response during the initial trials has been encouraging.
“Over the past two days of trials, more than eight girls have participated, and we are expecting more players who are currently working in Suva and Lautoka to join us during the weekends,” Kumar said.
He also acknowledged the support received from the Nadroga Netball Association.
“We sincerely thank the Nadroga Netball Association for their invaluable support in helping us develop our Indo-Fijian players and in boosting the morale of our team,” he said.
Kumar confirmed that he will also take on the role of coach as the team builds toward the Convention.
Training sessions are currently being held every Tuesday and Thursday at Lawaqa from 5pm, while training on other days takes place at the Sigatoka Andra School Ground, also starting at 5pm.
Kumar said the door remains open for more players to join the squad.
“We warmly welcome more interested girls to come forward and be part of this exciting journey as we prepare for the 2026 Convention,” he added.
The team is aiming to build a strong and competitive side as they continue their preparations in the coming months.
