The Bula FC club has clarified that several players missed their scheduled flight to Port Moresby due to a delay in visa approvals, dismissing reports that they were “offloaded” by the airline.

In a statement, the club said the players were unable to check in because their visas had not been issued in time, meaning they were never checked in, boarded or removed from the flight.

“This was a documentation timing issue, not an airline offloading decision,” the club said.

The visas were granted after the aircraft departed, and the players have since been rebooked on another flight.

They are expected to join the team in camp in Port Moresby today.

The club said it was important that accurate language was used, as incorrect terminology could create a misleading impression of what occurred.
