JACK’S of Fiji, a prominent brand under the Jacks group of companies, and the Tailevu Rugby Football Union (TRFU) have solidified a groundbreaking sponsorship partnership that will span over two years.
This alliance signifies a significant milestone for both parties and underscores their dedication to enhancing provincial rugby in Fiji.
Following more than two months of productive discussions, the partnership emphasised a mutual commitment to bolstering grassroots rugby, improving player welfare, and establishing sustainable rugby pathways within Tailevu Province.
Speaking at the official signing ceremony on Wednesday, Jason Kumar, the marketing officer of the Jacks group of companies, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting how it resonates with the company’s core values and longstanding involvement in community development through sports.
Kumar stated, “With its rich rugby legacy and strong community roots, Tailevu is an ideal partner for us, and we believe that this collaboration will play a significant role in the advancement and longevity of provincial rugby.”
He emphasised that the partnership goes beyond mere branding and apparel assistance, adding the importance of accountability, performance, and quantifiable community impact.
“The Tailevu Rugby Football Union exemplifies these qualities, and we are excited about what the next two years hold for us in this partnership.”
The sponsorship deal encompasses official apparel and merchandise backing, financial support, and branding partnerships, with a merchandise model based on royalties that aims to create sustainable revenue streams for the Union.
Joseph Rodan Snr, the president of the Tailevu Rugby Football Union, hailed the partnership as a significant boost to the Union’s operational capabilities and long-term strategic objectives.
“On behalf of the Tailevu Rugby Football Union, I would like to sincerely thank Jacks of Fiji for this historic partnership.
“We are honoured to be associated with a respected Fijian brand that shares our vision for grassroots development, strong governance, and long-term sustainability.”
“This support will directly assist our players, clubs, and officials as we prepare for the upcoming provincial competitions, including the Skipper Cup and Farebrother Trophy.
“More importantly, it strengthens our ability to invest in youth development and the village-based clubs that form the backbone of Tailevu rugby.”
