A strong wind gust of 70 kilometres per hour was recorded in Nadi last night, as unsettled weather conditions continued to affect parts of the country, said Fiji Meteorological Service.
Strong winds caused an Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) power post to fall in Sabeto, near Muslim Primary School, at around 11.15pm last night.
No injuries were reported, but residents were urged to remain cautious during the ongoing wet weather.
Meanwhile, the heavy rain warning previously in force for the entire Fiji Group has been downgraded to a heavy rain alert.
According to the Weather Office, a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain continues to affect the Fiji Group.
Occasional rain is expected over most places, with isolated thunderstorms and localised heavy falls likely.
