EXTRA Bula FC head coach Stephane Auvray remains optimistic about his team’s performance in the 2026 OFC Pro League, despite some early setbacks.

With a 2-2 draw against Vanuatu United and a narrow 0-1 loss to Auckland FC, Bula FC still has work to do before facing Solomon Kings FC this Sunday.

Auvray reflects on the tough loss to Auckland, but he is proud of his team’s resilience and determination.

He highlights the need to keep playing, believing in their abilities, and implementing their playing style.

He sees potential for improvement and expects the level of competition to rise as the season progresses.

“It was a tough game to lose against Auckland, but they (team) will take the positives into the next match,” said Auvray.

“I’m very proud. We’re showing that we have the resources, no matter what happens.”

Despite the challenges faced, Auvray believes in his players’ potential and their ability to achieve success in the league.

“We keep on playing, because I think in the first half, we didn’t play so well. As long as you keep playing and you keep believing, and as Roy (Krishna) said, we have a structure, we have ideas, we have a style we want to implement.”

Captain Roy Krishna echoed Auvray’s sentiments, expressing pride in his team’s efforts and progress.

He acknowledged that there may be moments of frustration, but he has encouraged his teammates to trust in themselves and focus on long-term growth.

“We’re on the right track, we know how to play football, we know what the coach wants us to play and the way he wants us to play, sure, we’re still learning, but I’m still proud of the boys.”

The team will face Solomon Kings FC on Sunday at the Santos National Football Stadium in Papua New Guinea at 5.30pm.
