SWIRE Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Glen Jackson says the team is in its best condition yet and fully focused on winning Super Rugby, as he addressed players and staff during the official welcome of new chief executive officer Jeff Miller at the Drua base on Tuesday.

Jackson said the club has worked hard to build a strong environment and a squad that understands what it means to be a Drua player, both on and off the field.

He said the team has put in enormous work during the pre-season and believes the group is well prepared for the challenges ahead.

“We’re a very, very good team this year,” Jackson said.

The Drua coach said fitness has been a major focus, describing the squad as the fittest it has ever been, driven by a committed leadership group and supported by a dedicated coaching and backroom staff.

Jackson said everyone within the organisation shares the same goal of making the nation proud and delivering success for Fiji.

He also welcomed Miller to the club, praising his experience and contribution to the game of rugby over many years.

Jackson said Miller’s knowledge of the game, including his experience at Rugby World Cups, will be a major asset to the Drua as they push towards their goal of winning Super Rugby.

He assured the new CEO of the full support of the playing group and staff, saying the team is united in its ambition and ready to work together to take the club to the next level.

Jackson said the responsibility of leading the Drua is shared by everyone in the organisation, as they strive to achieve the success the team and the country are chasing.
