PREPARATIONS are underway for the Navosa Netball Annual General Meeting, scheduled for February 12 at Namataku District School at 6pm, as the association builds on the success of a recent two-day tournament hosted by FMF Navosa Netball with support from Navosa Rugby.

The competition featured 20 teams and delivered exciting netball action, highlighting the continued growth of the sport in Navosa.

Nanumiau claimed Best Qualifier 1 after a tough and closely contested final against the young Qwali Vula 1 side, coached by Sadam Bainivalu.

Nanumiau’s win was strengthened by the experience and leadership of former Fiji Pearls squad member Robyn Vula, Chivalele, and several senior players.

Legendary Navosa netball player Elenoa Vatureba also drew attention while featuring for Keiyasi Blues, adding inspiration for younger players at the tournament.

Nadroga Netball president Judy Kumar praised the organisers and teams, saying the strong turnout and level of competition showed positive development of netball in Navosa.

She also acknowledged the support of Nadroga Netball executives Katrina Magderlyn, Qainiuci Lai, Tabaiwalu Salad Bowl Kumar, along with Navosa netball legend Elenoa Vatureba Dinoa and Mrs Qoro, for their assistance during the tournament.

Following the AGM, attention will turn to the Koronamaya 7s, scheduled for February 13 and 14, 2026, with the Navosa Netball knockout competition set for March 2026, marking an exciting year ahead for Navosa netball.
