RONEEL Prakash and Ba Golf Club captain Asish Chand were the standout performers at the Dinesh Chand Invitational tournament held at the Denarau Golf Club yesterday.

The tournament ended in sudden death playoffs to decide the winners in both the main and amateur divisions, adding excitement to an already competitive day.

Prakash eventually claimed the main title after edging out his opponent in sudden death, finishing with an impressive 70 gross.

In the Amateur Division, Ba Golf Club captain Asish Chand also had to go through sudden death before securing the win with a 77 gross.

The Ladies Division was dominated by Minuko, who finished with a 82 gross, while Siteri Cash picked up the Best Nett award with a score of 68.

Tournament founder Dinesh Chand said the event was a success, with the weather playing a big part in allowing the competition to run smoothly.

He said the tournament was organised to give back to the community and support junior golf development, with around 120 players taking part.

Chand added that he is feeling much better after undergoing knee surgery earlier this year.

He also thanked sponsors Punjas and Amitesh Chandra for their support in making the tournament possible.
