Unity Fiji plans to be “battle ready” by August 2026, although the date of the next election is not yet known.
“Unity Fiji’s preparation for the general election is on track and much stronger than in any other elections,” said party leader Savenaca Narube.
Mr Narube says the party is already engaging communities, listening to people’s concerns, and helping families earn more to meet daily challenges.
“People do not see any other political party that they can trust to save this country. Unity is the only party standing. The backbone of democracy is trust.”
If elected to form government, he said they promise to restore confidence, improve ethnic tolerance, raise productivity, remove economic exclusion, reform institutions, and update laws.
“We fully understand the weight and complexities of this agenda, but the difference is that we know how these can be achieved and we already have plans on how they can be done.”
Mr Narube confirmed that the party’s manifesto was being drafted and that more than enough candidates had expressed interest in contesting the elections.
“Unity Fiji will be very vigilant on the grounds for possible violations of the electoral laws and the Constitution.”
He urges the media to remain neutral during the election.
“The media plays an important role in rebuilding this nation. We seek the assistance of the mainstream media to remain neutral and give all parties a level playing field in these elections.”
