Women’s IDC begins in Suva

THE Fiji Football Association Women’s Inter-District Championship is set to begin today at the academy ground in Vatuwaqa, with Labasa Women FC gearing up for what promises to be a challenging start to their campaign in the 2026 tournament.

Under the guidance of head coach Roneel Ram, the team has been focusing on rebuilding fitness, honing match awareness, and strengthening team unity after the holiday break.

Ram emphasised the importance of regaining match fitness and getting the players comfortable with the ball again, along with instilling discipline and basic fitness principles.

Labasa Women FC will face a tough opening match against Suva Women FC in their first fixture of the IDC, followed by matches against Rewa Women FC and Ba Women FC over the weekend. Labasa Women FC will kick off their campaign against Suva Women FC at 2pm, with the first match of the day featuring Ba and Rewa at 12pm.
