Suva bowler and national bowls representative Elizabeth Moceiwai is gearing up to compete at the 2026 World Bowls Champion of Champions tournament this October in Australia.
Her commanding performance in last year’s national singles competition earned her the honour of representing Fiji at this prestigious international event, which brings together the world’s top single bowlers to vie for the ultimate accolade.
“I played in four national singles events, winning three. One of those victories qualified me to represent the country at the Champion of Champions competition in Australia,” she said.
Last year marked one of the most successful periods in the Ono-I-Lau native’s career since she took up the sport in 2009.
She dominated at both club and national levels.
“I played a lot of club games—weekly club matches, social games, and national competitions. Last year was, I can confidently say, a very good year for me,” she confirmed.
With the first national trials scheduled for next week, Moceiwai aims to deliver another strong performance to secure her place at her first-ever Commonwealth Games.
She also views the trials as an excellent lead-up to the upcoming competition in Australia.
Having missed the last two editions, Moceiwai believes debuting at the 2026 Games will surpass even her successes from 2015.
