IT was a fiercely contested match between the Redline team and the Marines at the Suva Volleyball Association (SVA) club games held at the multi-purpose court in Laucala yesterday.
The Redline team emerged victorious, winning two sets to one over the Marines in what proved to be an exhilarating match for all spectators.
It was a challenging game, as noted by Redline team captain Waisake Rabuatoka, who commended the Marines for showcasing their talent on the court.
He expressed gratitude towards his teammates for giving their all and persevering to secure the win in the final set.
“It was a tough match, Marines really showed their talent on the court, but I’m thankful for the boys for giving all their best to get the final set with the win,” said Rabuatoka.
As the new year begins, the Redline team has welcomed a few new players who have been performing well.
Rabuatoka emphasised the team’s focus on continuous learning and improvement to enhance their performance on the court.
“It is great to start the new year, we have few new players in the team they have been doing well, and its only about learning and improving.
“We got few areas we need to fix, there have been a lot of mistakes, we will go back and look at and come back stronger next week.”
Acknowledging the efforts of the Suva Volleyball Association in kickstarting the year on a strong note, Rabuatoka thanked all the teams that participated in the club games.
Looking ahead, the team aims to strengthen its bond and grow collectively, gearing up for numerous upcoming competitions with the goal of achieving the best possible results.
Rabuatoka extended his appreciation to the players and their families for their unwavering support.
