Australian child missing after being swept away by strong currents at Biausevu waterfall

Police have confirmed that a child was swept away by a strong current at Biausevu in the Coral Coast waterfall yesterday.

The victim, a 5-year-old child, was swept away by the strong current.

The incident took place around 2pm yesterday.

She was returning from the waterfall at the time of the incident.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said search efforts are continuing.

Search efforts were initiated with negative results.
Teams consisting of Police officers and community members will continue search efforts in Sigatoka.
