“This is Fiji’s team.”

Those were the words of Bula FC interim chief executive officer Anushil Kumar as the club prepares for a historic debut in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Professional League this Saturday.

With final preparations complete, the team is set to represent Fiji on a new professional stage, carrying the hopes of fans both at home and abroad.

Kumar said officials and players have put in significant work behind the scenes to ensure the team is ready for the challenge ahead, acknowledging that the journey has come with its fair share of difficulties.

“The journey so far has not been easy.

“We have overcome the obstacles, and the team is ready to head to New Zealand for round one,” said Kumar.

Bula FC will face a strong Vanuatu United side in their opening match, a contest Kumar expects to be tough, stressing the importance of fan support on match day.

“We know there are many Fijians residing in Auckland, and we also know that many have already purchased their tickets for Saturday’s game.

“To those who will be at the ground, please cheer at your loudest voice and to those fans who’ll be watching on the screens from Fiji or any part of the world, please keep the team in your prayers and blessings.”

Bula FC takes on Vanuatu United at Eden Park, in Auckland, New Zealand at 2pm on Saturday.

The team departs for New Zealand tomorrow, marking another milestone in Fiji’s football journey.
