Taking time to shop carefully for her children was the main reason Ryana Deo started her back-to-school shopping early this year.
Mrs Deo, a mother of two, said she was out in the weekend buying the remaining stationery for her children.
“I wanted to avoid the last minute rush and really take my time when shopping for my kids,” Mrs Deo said.
Shopping early allowed her to move at a comfortable pace, compare prices and make sure she bought exactly what her children needed.
She said prices for stationery were slightly higher compared to last year, which made careful shopping even more important.
“When shopping last minute, people end up missing out on items because of being in a hurry and a lot of customers shopping at the same time.
Mrs Deo’s approach reflects the experience of many parents who are choosing to shop ahead of time to manage rising costs while ensuring their children are well prepared for the new academic year.
