Authorities are urging members of the public to stay away from the Walu Bay area after a fuel leak was detected at one of the oil tanks opposite Paradise Beverages, near the Mobil and Total service stations.
Emergency crews from the National Fire Authority are on-site in full force, working to contain the leak and prevent any potential escalation.
Police have cordoned off entry points into Walu Bay from both the Suva and Lami sides to ensure public safety and allow responders to operate without disruption.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Kasiano Vusonilawe, has called on members of the public to cooperate with authorities and follow instructions issued at the scene.
Officials say updates will be provided once the situation is brought under control and the area is declared safe.
