Fiji Airways has issued travel alerts for two regional routes, warning passengers of potential disruptions as fuel supplies remain unavailable at the destination airports.
In a statement, the airline said flights to Funafuti will continue operating with restrictions until 15 January 2026, as aircraft are required to uplift additional contingency fuel from Fiji.
Because of the extra fuel load, flights will not operate at full capacity due to weight limitations.
A separate advisory confirmed similar challenges for the Nadi–Vava’u service, where fuel is unavailable until 9 January 2026.
Fiji Airways said guests — as well as checked and standby baggage — may be offloaded where necessary to meet aircraft weight and balance requirements.
Affected passengers and luggage will be accommodated on the next available service, subject to operations.
Travellers are being urged to carry essential belongings and overnight necessities in their hand luggage, within standard carry-on rules.
