“THERE might be some” cases against Cabinet ministers with the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).

FICAC acting commissioner Lavi Rokoika made this comment when asked whether more Cabinet ministers were under their radar, following charges made against former deputy prime ministers Biman Prasad and Manoa Kamikamica.

“There might be some,” she said.

On whether these cases were linked to the COI report, Ms Rokoika could not comment as the matter was before the High Court.

“In terms of the COI report, you might be aware that there is one that is currently on foot in the High Court, honourable Kamikamica, so I cannot discuss any other files outside from his that we currently have with the commission.

“In terms of our investigation, no one is targeted and no one is protected. We use the same threshold for any person that has a file here within the commission.

“The fact that you are someone that is unemployed on the street, that has bribed an official, and if you are a member of Parliament, that does not affect any investigations.”
