A heavy rain alert is now in force for the whole of Fiji.
The Fiji Meteorological Service says an active trough of low pressure is expected to move in from the west and begin affecting the group from Tuesday, bringing periods of rain and thunderstorms.
From tomorrow, residents can expect occasional rain — heavy at times — with thunderstorms developing later in the day.
Authorities warn the system could trigger flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone communities, informal settlements, business areas and Irish crossings, leading to traffic disruptions.
Urban centres with poor drainage may experience surface flooding, while wet roads and reduced visibility during downpours could increase the risk of accidents.
Members of the public are urged to remain alert, monitor weather updates, and take necessary precautions.
