The Rev Ronald Ram has urged the public to embrace renewal, strengthen family ties and support one another as Fiji prepares to enter 2026.

Mr Ram, of Grace Samaritan Assembly of God, said the start of a new year was an opportunity for people to reset their goals and move forward, regardless of challenges faced in the past.

“If last year did not go well, the new year is a chance for a fresh beginning,” Mr Ram said.

“Strong personal values and faith played an important role in overcoming difficulties.”

He said families remained the backbone of communities and the nation.

“When families are strong, communities become stronger, and that reflects positively on the country.”

Mr Ram also reflected on the growth of the church since it was established in Korociriciri, Nausori, 12 years ago.

He said the settlement, which was home to more than 400 Indo-Fijian families, initially posed challenges in setting up a church.

“We started with just 10 members, through consistent prayer and community support, the congregation has grown to more than 100 members.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Mr Ram said the church planned to expand its outreach programs with a focus on assisting vulnerable groups.

“Our goal is to reach at least 50 more people, including widows, single mothers and those facing social challenges such as drug-related issues,” he said.

He said the church also aimed to extend its outreach beyond Korociriciri.
