NETBALL Australia, along with support from the Australian Government’s PacificAus Sports program, is pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural PacificAus Sports Netball Challenge.

This exciting event is set to take place from November 23-28, 2026, at Brisbane’s Nissan Arena.

The PacificAus Sports Netball Challenge is a groundbreaking tournament that focuses solely on Pacific-based netball players.

It will feature teams from Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga, and the Cook Islands, showcasing the talent and skill of players from these nations.

Netball Fiji President, RubyAnn Sorovaki, expressed her enthusiasm for this event, highlighting the opportunity it presents for local athletes to participate in a national competition and potentially earn a spot in their country’s squad.

“With a high percentage of our athletes being locally based, a competition like this lifts opportunity for a wider cross section of athletes to participate both in our pathway and become possible squad members,” Sorovaki said.

The Challenge tournament will also provide professional development opportunities for local coaches, umpires and bench officials, supporting multiple facets of the Pacific netball ecosystem.
