The funeral service of the late Ram Prasad, a resident of the Golden Age Home in Lautoka, was held yesterday at the Lovu Crematorium.

The ceremony was led by Shree Sanatan Dharm Brahman Purohit Sabha National Treasurer Pandit Relesh Sharma, together with Serupepeli Votea and Lautoka Girmit Centre Manager Selva Nadan.

Mr Votea performed the final rites.

Shree Sanatan Dharm Brahman Purohit Sabha said Prasad, fondly remembered by fellow residents and caregivers, was accorded a respectful farewell that honoured his life and legacy.

The service reflected unity, compassion and mutual respect, bringing together diverse traditions in a spirit of harmony that highlighted Fiji’s multicultural values.

“His passing marks the loss of a humble soul whose later years were spent under the care of the Golden Age Home,” said the Sabha.

“The funeral served as a reminder of the enduring values of love, service and dignity that transcend cultural boundaries.”
