The National Federation Party (NFP) has issued a public call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individuals wishing to stand as candidates in the upcoming General Elections.
In its public advertisement, NFP invited Fijians aged 18 years and above who are committed to the national interest to join the party in “weaving Fiji together” through public service and principled leadership.
The party highlighted its long-standing history as Fiji and the South Pacific’s oldest political party, established in 1963 on the founding principles of equality, dignity and justice for all.
NFP said its record in the Coalition Government reflects these values, pointing to key outcomes in the 2025–2026 National Budget. These include the reduction of VAT and the removal of VAT on essential prescription medicines, which the party said provided real relief to families and eased cost-of-living pressures.
The party also cited strengthened support for the elderly, low-income families, persons with disabilities and those facing economic hardship, as well as restored trade union freedoms, tripartite consultation, media freedom and accountable governance.
NFP said it also contributed to strengthening national security, disaster response capacity and Fiji’s independent voice in foreign affairs.
“These were not abstract policies but practical leadership decisions that delivered fairness, stability and better outcomes in everyday life for the people of Fiji,” the party stated.
NFP said it is seeking candidates who are rooted in their communities, demonstrate strong community support, uphold transparency and accountability, and are committed to social justice, economic fairness and democratic governance.
Applicants are required to submit a statement of interest outlining their motivation and community support, along with a curriculum vitae and, where possible, reference letters.
Applications close on Monday, 16 February 2026. NFP has especially encouraged women, young people and persons with disabilities to apply.
