The Fiji Meteorological Service has cancelled the heavy rain alert previously in force for the Northern Division, Yasawa, Northern Lau and Lomaiviti groups, as well as the flash flood alert for the entire Fiji Group.
According to the weather office, a trough of low pressure remains slow moving just north of Fiji.
Despite the cancellation of the alerts, unsettled weather is still expected across parts of the group.
Forecasts to midnight tonight indicate occasional showers with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms over eastern and interior parts of Vanua Levu, including Cakaudrove, southern Bua, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, as well as the Yasawa, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
Eastern and interior parts of Viti Levu, from Serua-Namosi through Navua, Suva and Nausori up to Tailevu-Ra, can also expect periods of showers and thunderstorms.
Elsewhere, conditions will be partly cloudy with afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms, some of which may bring heavy rain.
The Fiji Meteorological Service has warned that intense downpours from thunderstorms could still cause flash flooding in low-lying areas.
