SIXTY-FOUR graduates of Pacific Polytech’s Navua campus have received certificates in the fields of agriculture, carpentry, software application and ICT.

At the inaugural graduation ceremony of the Class of 2025, the Assistant Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Sakiusa Tubuna, said the event was a boost for the nation in terms of trade and skills across various sectors.

“This marks the beginning of contribution towards Fiji’s trade and skills in infrastructure, digital transformation, and agriculture sectors,” Mr Tubuna said.

He said “not all students thrive in a textbook-based environment”, while Pacific Polytech director Peni Taoi said the institution aimed to elevate skills to raise living standards.

“The school focuses on the improvement of skills to further enhance living standards,” he said.

Mr Taoi urged the Government to continue to provide assistance to the institution to ensure school dropouts are able to attain quality certification in trade, “providing an opportunity for those who drop out of school and fill the gap between universities and vocational studies”.

He reminded those who wish to enrol in Pacific Polytech programs to be proactive in submitting their applications and ensuring all their details are correct and up-to-date.

He also encouraged students to take advantage of the TSLS funding and apply to Pacific Polytech.

“We start on January 19, 2026, and we need students to apply now and ensure that contact details are updated and correct,” Mr Taoi added.
